Colas will present its products and innovations at the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales from 21 to 23 November 2023

Colas will be exhibiting its innovative and responsible soft and smart mobility products and its overall sustainable infrastructure management solutions at the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales (SMCL) from 21 to 23 November 2023. One stand and two conferences will be dedicated to these topics.

Smart mobility solutions

This year, the focus will be on Flowell, the only interactive luminous marking system authorised under French regulations. This solution will be shown on the stand. It illuminates pedestrian
crossings when a person is crossing, improving user safety in public areas. This system will be discussed at a conference entitled Flowell, a unique solution for improving pedestrian safety on Wednesday 22 November at 10.15 am at the Adaptation des territoires Lab in the presence of Denis Thuriot, the Mayor of Nevers.

Other smart online mobility solutions will also be on show: the Parkki smart bike totem and the three-colour Symphonie traffic sign solution from Aximum, a Colas subsidiary specialising in road infrastructure.

Low-carbon surfacing and the circular economy

Colas will also be exhibiting its low-carbon surfacing range, designed to support local authorities in their environmental transition. This includes asphalt mixes with a plant-based binder
(Vegeroad, Vegecol), natural and recyclable permeable surfacing (Urbalith) or light-coloured asphalt mixes (Vegecol) that help to create islands of coolness in urban environments, and
Colquick, a cold, storable and water-reactive asphalt mix specially designed for day-to-day road maintenance.

In line with its CSR policy, Colas will be showcasing Valormat and Ecotri, its network of circular economy platforms in France, which recover materials from development and demolition.

Sustainable infrastructure management

Finally, Colas is developing digital solutions to help local authorities manage their road assets and improve the resilience of their infrastructure.

The INFRACARE service uses artificial intelligence to give local authorities a clear picture of the condition of their roads, enabling them to prioritise operations and set up multi-year road works programmes. This solution could be a first step towards the introduction of overall performance contracts: one of the conference topics is "What if we put global performance contracts to work for infrastructure? "Tuesday 21 November at 2.45 pm in the Adaptation des territoires Lab. Colas will also be showcasing ANAIS, a preventive optimised infrastructure management system, and 2IN, a simple, economical and fluid twin digital solution for local and regional authorities to enhance the resilience of their areas (assets, infrastructure, etc.)."
