Aximum is deploying connected infrastructures and C-ITS co-operative intelligent transport systems for information exchange between traffic lights and autonomous shuttles. The installation of Roadside Units (RSUs) linked to on-board equipment enables autonomous vehicles to travel in complete safety. 
This technology contributes to the deployment of autonomous public transport solutions, reducing noise pollution and the environmental impact of urban traffic. Aximum highlights the benefits of a connected infrastructure in terms of road safety, reducing traffic nuisance and sharing the road between different types of user.

Smoother driving: SOFFT speed advisory solution

Aximum offers Traffic Flow Optimisation Systems for Traffic Lights, thanks to the deployment of communicating infrastructures.
With SOFFT Speed advisory, drivers are given a recommendation based on their situation, and this information is transmitted via different types of display. The SOFFT speed advisory solution is used to: 
advise users on the optimum speed to adopt when approaching a traffic-light junction to ensure safe, controlled crossing,
reduce carbon emissions by limiting braking sequences and acceleration.

When approaching a traffic-light junction, drivers are informed in real time about the traffic-light cycles. The information is transmitted from the junction controllers by the Roadside Units, equipped with 4G and WiFi V2X antennas. Information is disseminated using a variety of media: 
• Vehicle dashboards if connected to V2X
• Variable Message Signs
• Mobile application
The display indicates the speed required to pass through the green junction or informs that the junction will be red regardless of the approaching speed.

Priority for emergency vehicles: SOFFT Priority solution

The SOFFT Priority solution makes it easier and safer for priority vehicles to pass through traffic light junctions: emergency vehicles, local authorities, public transport, etc. 
These vehicles are equipped with connected units (OBU) that communicate with the Roadside Units (RSU) using V2X technology. When the priority vehicle is approaching a traffic-light junction, the system automatically switches to green or extends the duration of the green period to make it easier for all road users to pass through the junction in complete safety.
